Abstract (EN)
The use of songs in language teaching has been widely investigated and many researchers have reported positive effects of songs on language learning. This study aims to investigate teaching grammar structures through songs. It aims to bring out students' attitudes towards learning English through songs. It also determines to bring out students' comprehension about if English songs are beneficial for building self-assurance. A descriptive research on the effect of teaching grammar through songs was conducted in order to achieve the aims mentioned above. It was carried out at a private school with 24 students in 6th grade. The data was collected through a four point likert questionnaire, teacher diary and the transcriptions of video recordings made in the classroom. The results of the study reveal that songs are helpful in teaching grammar and most of the participants are happy with the use of songs in their English classes.
