Technical and structural properties of broilers business in Malatya

Abstract (EN)

In this study, structural and technical characteristics of broilerhouses, in Malatya wereinvestigated, problemswereidentifiedandpossiblewereproposedsolutions. Researchmaterialconsisted of a total of 77 broilerbusiness. Accordingtothesurvey; all of thebusiness is his propertyandpoultryhouseswerefoundto be 1-2 piecesthewhole of enterprises. Capacity is generallybetween 10000-20000 in studiedbroilerpoultry. Thecapacityutilization rate, aredefined as 89% in general businesses. Theaverageage of breeders, are46.8, 46% of breedersareprimaryschoolgraduatesandyears of experiencewithmorethan 6 yearsbreeders rate wascalculated as 63.2%. Itwasfoundthatthetype of hangingroundfeedanddroppernipplewatererstypeareusedall of thepoultryhouses. Theratio of usedstove as a heatingmaterial is 94.9%, the rate of used fan as a ventilation is 93.6%. Theratio of thestockingdensity of broilerswere ≥ 13 birds/squaremeter, %69.9%, theamount of feedintakefor a broilerwere 4.1 kg andtheavarageliveweightwas 2.5 kg at 40-45 days of age. Broilerhousesweremostlyusehybridchicks of foreign orijin andmortalitywasfounded 5-6% in oneperiod. As a result; it wasdeterminedthat Malatya province of broilerbreeding is in a similarmannertoTurkey general conditions of contractfarming. The main problems of theallbreeders in Malatya areeducation, loan, feedanddisease.
