Abstract (EN)
Titanium and its alloys are widely used because of their high strength, low density and good corrosion properties as well as providing advantages in terms of biocompatibility. Recently, titanium alloys containing Zr, Nb and Ta have been widely used because they have good corrosion properties and do not show toxic effects. One of the titanium alloys, β-type Ti45Nb, has high biocompatibility, high corrosion resistance, no toxic effect and low modulus of elasticity. Like other titanium alloys, Ti45Nb has poor wear properties. In order to improve the properties of this alloy, surface deposition process is applied in layers with various alloys. One of the most widely used surface treatments is the physical vapor deposition (PVD) method. In this study, TiO2 and SiO2 films were coated in multiple layers on Ti45Nb substrate using PVD method and the changes in structural, mechanical and tribological properties were examined with XPS, AFM, SEM. As a result of the study, it was observed that the wear resistance increased as the number of coatings on the surface increased.
