The Patient Information and Follow-up Form, Diabetes Self-Management Questionnaire (DSMQ), Quality of Life Scale Short Form 36 (SF-36 Quality of Life Scale), and Satisfaction Questionnaire were used to collect data. Patients in the experimental group underwent motivational interviewing empowered by game-based mobile technology, whereas patients in the control group underwent routine nursing care. Results: After the intervention, it was determined that the highest mean score in all sub-dimensions of self-management and quality of life in the experimental group was obtained from the follow-up test (p<0.001), all metabolic control variables improved during the follow-up test phase (p<0.05), and 71.9% were extremely satisfied. In the control group, it was determined that there was a decrease in self-management total and diet control sub-dimension and quality of life mental health sub-dimension scores according to measurement times, and the highest mean value for some metabolic control variables was obtained from the follow-up test (p<0.001). Conclusion: It was concluded that motivational interviewing empowered by game based mobile technology, is an effective method of enhancing Type 2 diabetes patients' self-management, quality of life, and satisfaction levels.
