From the social self to the digital self: Towards understanding the morphology of a society

This study, from the Social Self to the Digital Self: Towards Understanding the Morphology of a Society, is important in understanding the social nature of the self and the new morphological experiences that take shape around this nature. The self, which was previously built by face-to-face interactions in the nature of the social, has now been subjected to a new morphological experience built as result of virtual interactions in digital media with the spread of the interner. In this study, the problem of what kind of changes in digital media, where people interact with others and become a new form of social existence, causes inthe light of the concepts of reality, representation and image on the social self and self-representations is discussed. The conceptual framework of the study consists of the general definitions made in the first part to understand the social nature of the self, the basic concepts of Symbolic Interactionism, which Express the subject as a form of symbolic interaction and Goffman's dramaturgical theory. In the second part, the change and transformation of the self, which carries its sociality to the digital surface and turns into an object of spectacle, is discussed through the basic slate of thinkers such as Debord, Foucault, Baudrillard, etc. In the third part, in the universe of indicators where symbolic interaction is almost eliminated, thinking about whether it is possible to get rid of the artificial components-representation, image-attached to one's social skin with Deleuze's concept of "being unnoticed" and including it in the field of social science discussion will contribute to the literatüre in terms of better understanding social changes.
