Abstract (EN)

Social Movements have always been existing in the world and state politics, they developed different contentions and action forms in line with historical changes and conditions and they were identified in different ways. Movements which were previously identified as a kind of violent mass behaviour without any precise objective have got to be identified in economic and urban dimensions together with the outputs of industrialization. Movements which gained politic and economic diversity after the World War II and Cold War have started to include women?s and children?s rights, identity and environmental problems under the topic of struggle issues. While mentioned political dimensions continue to evolve, changes and improvement in technology have the main purpose of social movements and repertoire of action evolved additionally. This dissertation recognizes right for information, which emphasises that the information must be free and publicly accessible, as a social movement issue and presumes Hacktivism as a modern social movement which tries to affect national and international politics by using gained and freed information, no matter how it is gained. Social movements need a certain level of democracy to exist and their primary goal is to have ?more democracy?. Even if the social movements are able to use destructive instruments, they are constructive to create a new social order. ?The Right for Information? which is not included in the social movement analysis by the de facto academical studies must take its place among the objectives of social movements. Hacktivism is a modern form of social movement which uses information and technology to access information and affects international politics by building international cooperation. These mentioned thesises build up this dissertation?s hypothetical base. Key words: democratization, social movements, Hacktivizm, repertoire of action, right for information
