Chemical analysis of precipitation in the county central Trabzon

Abstract (EN)

This study has been carried out to investigate the chemical properties of the rains in winter in Trabzon city, Black Sea Region, Turkey. The rain water samples were collected at three stations which are in the KTU campus, the Governership and Bahçecik standing. SO4-2 , NO3-, NO2-, Ca+2 , Mg+2 and pH concentrations of samples were determined. The samples are taken from May 2008 to April 2009 at these three stations. The average pH value was 6.81. The average pollutant concentrations of the rainwater samples were determined as follows : 2.993 mg SO4-2 / L, 0.302 mg NO3- / L, 0.046 mg NO2- / L, 0.66 mg Ca+2 / L, 0.60 mg Mg+2 / L. This is indicated that alkaline character period between May 2008 - April 2009 of Trabzon rainwater. Also the air pollution graph of PM and SO2 have been drawn for urban Trabzon. The data of air pollutants have been recorded by a stable air pollution monitoring laboratories of Directorate of Environment and Foresty of Trabzon between the years of 2008-2009.
