Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to determine the effect of recreational activities and subjective well-being on service performance in tourist guides. The theoretical framework was created by reviewing both national and international literature on the concepts that constitute the basic variables of the research. In the application phase, questionnaire technique was used as a data collection method. The population of the research consists of 10.403 tourist guides actively working in Turkey. Due to time and cost restrictions, the entire population could not be reached and therefore sampling was used. In this framework, 447 tourist guides were reached. In the analysis of the answers given by the tourist guides participating in the research to the survey questions: Factor analysis, reliability analysis, percentage and frequency analyses, t test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), correlation and regression analyses were used. Research findings show that recreational activities and subjective well-being have a significant effect on service performance in tourist guides. Correlation analyses revealed that there is a significant relationship between recreational activities, subjective well-being and service performance. Regression analyses confirmed that recreational activities have a positive and significant effect on subjective well-being and service performance. A positive, weak and significant relationship (r=0.213; p=0.000) were found between recreational activities and service performance. In addition to that, a positive, moderate and significant relationship (r=0.404; p=0.000) was found between subjective well-being and service performance. Finally, a positive, weak and significant relationship (r=0,260; p=0,000) was found between recreational activities and subjective well-being.
