Abstract (EN)
Tourism is one of the most important sectors globally, showing continuous growth. Therefore, there is fierce competition both internationally and nationally among tourism businesses. One of the most significant assets in competitiveness is the workforce of these businesses. Especially in accommodation establishments, having qualified personnel reduces errors and maximizes operational efficiency. To ensure the sustainability of qualified personnel in businesses, it is necessary for employees to have high levels of job satisfaction. In this regard, one of the important determinants of employee satisfaction in businesses could be the perception of organizational trust. The aim of this study is to determine the impact of employees' perception of organizational trust on job satisfaction among personnel working in 4 and 5-star hotels in Istanbul. To achieve this goal, data were collected through a survey technique from hotel employees in Istanbul. Data were obtained from 442 hotel employees using the convenience sampling method. Organizational trust perception emerged in three dimensions: trust in management, trust in friends at work, and trust in the organization itself. It was found that trust in management and trust in the organization itself significantly affect employees' intrinsic satisfaction, while trust in friends at work does not have a significant impact. The highest level of influence was found in trust in management perception. However, when considering external satisfaction among employees, it was found that all three dimensions have an impact on external job satisfaction. The highest impact on external satisfaction was found in trust in friends at work perception. In conclusion, it has been demonstrated that the perception of organizational trust significantly affects job satisfaction. Keywords: Organizational Trust, Job Satisfaction, Istanbul Hotels
