Abstract (EN)

Mythology is a mirror reflecting the lives of societies. It is a social science field that tells the creative powers, lives, deaths and divine stories that people have developed since their lives, which are fictional and spatial. This concept, which is formed by the combination of the concepts of myth and logos, can also be transferred as "legendary knowledge or science". Myths are cultural heritages that have emerged in different cultures and geographies throughout the lives of human beings. Turkish society has created motifs by stylizing and stylizing nature in order to convey its beliefs, emotions, traditions and customs. One of these is bird figures. They are among the important facts for Turkish society and mythology. It is possible to see the reflection of these depictions in every field of art. Turkish society has produced many works to keep legendary bird motifs alive. One of these fields is the art of illumination. In this study, we support one of our traditional values, the art of illumination, with birds in Turkish mythology and reveal how it is reflected in Turkish culture and art with new designs. These motifs, which continue to maintain their importance today, continue to inspire many studies in the field of traditional Turkish arts. The aim of the research is to use the birds in Turkish mythology in illumination art, to ensure that our motifs are not forgotten and to be seen in new areas.
