Afforesttations Before and After Act 4122 in Turkey In Turkey, afforestation studies were started with the Forestry Act 3116 that was came into force in 1937. Afterwards different arrangements were brought with the Forestry Act 6831. The National Afforestation and Erosion Control Mobilization Act 4122 that brought up an obligation of afforestation to almost all of the community and all the public association and foundation was came into force in 1995 by the reason of insufficiency of afforestation studies. Until now about 2 million hectares area has been afforested despite various changes in legal and organizational structure. An intensive afforestation study including almost all of the community was aimed with the Act, but the expected results could not realize. When the application of the Act has taken into consideration, the studies required by the concept of "mobilization" haven't been done. Key Words: Act 3 1 16, Act 683 1, Act 4122, Afforestation
