Abstract (EN)
The viola is an instrument that is trained in institutions where vocational music education is given. Although he is not well known, he has an important role in orchestras. This research aims to reveal how the viola lesson, which is a practical lesson in Fine Arts High Schools in Turkey, is done in the distance education process, the problems encountered in the lessons in this process and what solutions can be offered for these problems. It was held to give an idea about how distance education can be used in this period and how the lessons can be taught in case of switching to distance education again. The study group of the research consists of 9 teachers who took the viola lesson in the Fine Arts High School, which was randomly selected and accessible, and 47 students who took the viola lesson in the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades in these schools. The research was a qualitative research and was carried out based on descriptive methods. In the research, the data were collected with a semi-structured interview form made with the teachers and open-ended question forms prepared for the students. The data obtained from semi-structured interviews and open-ended question forms were processed and interpreted based on descriptive analysis. In the research, it was determined that face-to-face education in viola education is more applicable than distance education, that the use of distance education in a way to support face-to-face education will increase the quality of education and training, what are the advantages and disadvantages of distance education in instrument lessons, students experience loss of motivation in distance education, returning to distance education again. It has been concluded that the distance education process can become more efficient if the problems such as the device and internet infrastructure of the students are eliminated in the event of a problem. With the thought that the research will exist in the distance education education process, it is thought that it will contribute to the viola lessons to be more efficient in the future distance education processes.
