Abstract (EN)

Investments serve the purpose of enhancing the production tools within a given economy. They are carried out by the available stocks of the countries as well as external resources. Externally-financed investments bring about favorable consequences for the national economy provided that they are planned in a pertinent, timely and appropriate manner. Recently, developing countries have been offering remarkable conveniences to the investors for the sake of attracting foreign stocks. While choosing a host country for them, foreign stock investors mind their benefits principally. They serve for the host country?s benefits in an indirect way. This research seeks to examine the characteristics of foreign stock investments and mining industry, to determine the impact of the direct foreign investments on the financial performances of the firms, within the context of mining industry. It aims to examine the factors affecting the probability of the firm?s investments and to measure whether or not the firms achieve their expectancies about their investments. The statistical evaluation, executed in accordance with these motives, shows that direct foreign stock investments on the mining industry contribute to the development of the firms within the host country, their accession into new markets, acquisition of some advantages on taxes, employment opportunities, and amelioration of their financial performances.
