Abstract (EN)
The railway supply industry has recently become one of Turkey's priority sectors. The railway supply industry, which is included in the railway sector, provides the materials and services required for the production, maintenance and operation of railway systems and vehicles. The supply industry is an important component of the railway sector. Our study aims to analyze the competitiveness of the Turkish railway supply industry on a global scale. International competitiveness was analyzed and measured according to the comparative advantages approach, which was explained based on the post-trade data of the sector between 2012 and 2022. In addition, the study was supported by using the export/import ratio index, net export index, export market share index and AGL index. According to the findings, it has been determined that the sector does not have a clear competitive advantage on a total basis. However, the subgroup in which the sector has the most competitive power is freight wagons, and the sector's exports in this field are gradually increasing.
