Abstract (EN)
Child labour has taken place in the economic, social and cultural structures of countries since ancient times. Statistics about the child labour prove that today millions of children are in labour market. According to the statistics about the child labour which have been published by ILO, the number of the children workers around the world in 2008 is estimated to be 306 million. In this context, although many institutions and organizations leading ILO implement regulations for the abolition of child labour, the problem of child labour remains to be current both in developing and already developed countries. In this study the child labour both in Turkey and in the world is handled. In the section about the econometrical analysis of the study, child labour is analysed taking the data of 20 countries for the period 1990-2005 as basis, with panel data method. In the study are used pooled OLS (POLS), fixed effects (FE), random effects (RE) and Hausman test specification estimation methods. As a result of these four different estimations made by the panel data analysis, the results are found which support the theoretical and empirical studies about the child labour, and then these findings are interpreted.Key Words: Child Labour, Dimensions of Child Labour, Panel Data Analysis
