Abstract (EN)

Posterity, peers or also known as generation is the name given to the whole community of people who are born in approximately in the same time period, witnessed the same life experiences and are held responsible for similar responsibilities. It is observed in the past that these generations have been changing inn 15 or 20 years; however, length of these periods are shortened because of current technological developments and globalization. Each generation affects the cultural structures of the society while being affected by technological, economical, political and social developments. Characteristics vary, derived from the difference between the generations, in investment instruments that they use while making use of their savings, payment methods whilst conducting trade and their levels of financial literacy. In this study, effects on financial management are tried to be determined while taking new investment and payment instruments in our lives and differences between generations in consideration. Data in this paper was gathered using the questionnaire method and chi square independence testing technique, which is one of the non-parametric statistical techniques, was applied gathering data from 716 participants. As a result with the tests conducted it is determined that difference between generations has an effect on the payment and investment instruments.
