Poverty discussions in Turkey

Poverty, which has evolved over time and has become a multidimensional concept, is an important problem that countries must struggle. Poverty isa state that minimum standarts of living cannot be supplied. In Turkey, as a developing country, since the establishment of the Republic, poverty has been fought and various implementations have come into force. The aim of this study is to remark poverty levels in Turkey by using Turkish Statistical Institute data. The first section of the study has a theoretical point of view and theoretically examines the emergence, development and variation of the poverty over time. In the second section we analyze the methods of struggle against poverty. In the last section of the study we examine political and juristic regulations and instutions in order to fight poverty in Republician period of Turkey.
