Abstract (EN)
Today, as a requirement of developing technology, energy consumption is increasing day by day. Therefore, studies on alternative energy sources gained momentum. In this context, the bitter orange waste, which is an agricultural waste, is considered as an energy source. In this study, it was aimed to obtain pyrolytic oil from bitter orange seeds which is bitter waste by using pyrolysis method. The bitter orange seeds were extracted from the bitter orange plant by hand. A series of experiments have been carried out to optimize the production of pyrolytic oil. In this context, by changing the optimum production temperature, propellant flow rate and heating rate per minute, three different products were obtained: liquid, solid and gas phases. The optimum production conditions of the pyrolytic oil obtained from the bitter orange seed were determined as production temperature of 550°C, heating speed 5°C/min and propellant flow rate of 0.5 L/min. In addition, analyzes were performed to determine the physical properties of the pyrolytic oil produced. According to the analysis results, density was 1.0050 g/cm3, kinematic viscosity was 6.548 mm2/s, water content was 0.193 mg/kg and sulfur content was 0.19. These values were compared with conventional diesel.
