Abstract (EN)
"Gül ü Hüsrev" is a translation of the Persian poet, Attar's 7708 couplets mesnevi which is also known as "Hüsrev-nâme". Tutmacı wrote "Gül ü Hüsrev" in 1406. The work which narrates the love affair between Hüsrev, the son of Rum Kaiser and Gülruh (Gül), the daughter of Huzistan Shah occasionally provides moral messages. In the introduction chapter of the study, a comprehensive review of the work is presented after giving a brief information about Tutmacı, the author of Mesnevi and his works, and a critical text is comprised with the comparison of its three copies. Then, the vocabulary existence of the work has been revealed with the preparation of both a contextual index and a functional dictionary. In this study, it is aimed to decode the text within the context of vocabulary, idiom, proverb, pattern expression and phrases. Following this purpose, all the words in the work have been carefully reviewed and meanings of words, even metaphorical meanings and concepts are dealt with in all aspects. Thus, the presence vocabulary of the work has been classified by context and various meaning layers of words have been identified.
