Abstract (EN)

Aviation is a complicated system comprised of several interconnected operations. Aircraft maintenance is the most significant and vital component of this system. Aircraft Maintenance is an expensive process that must be repeated at regular intervals. Using the aircraft for purpose without maintenance is not possible. Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Organizations (MROs) must implement improvements and innovations to complement scheduled aircraft maintenance to satisfy the airline's demands and expectations. The airline company claims to keep the aircraft in the air all the time and this shows the importance of periodic maintenance in aircraft maintenance. Small improvements in cost, uniform distribution of flight load among aircraft, delays or any other issue result in crucial gains in the aviation industry. MRO of aircraft is a highly competitive and expensive sector. To promote the MRO industry's competitiveness, the supply chain and resource management of these companies must be efficient. In terms of safety, efficiency, cost and quality, there is of paramount significance to airlines. Due to the incapacity of an airplane to serve as a result of a malfunction, factors such as aircraft delay, economic and criminal consequences, loss of customer reputation and security are incurred. Such examples illustrate the significance of supply management for MRO firms. In order to reduce expenses in the event of a loss, firms that perform aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul organizations require spare inventories. To be prepared for demand variations, unanticipated occurrences and uncertainties, sufficient supply of replacement components are vital. A, B, C and D maintenance types are described in the document for components that must be replaced on aircraft requiring maintenance. When the components requested to be changed during maintenance are not at the designated area, deferred maintenance might incur substantial expenses and penalties. Once the aircraft arrives at the hangar for maintenance, the company locates the component on time and accounts for the associated costs is crucial. The cost of the component, the ordering cost of the component, transfer cost and the cost of holding the component are essential to the company's continued existence. In order not to delay the maintenance of the aircraft, AOG (Aircraft-on-ground) operation is performed in case of missing or damaged components written on the maintenance card. Even if AOG ordering creates a high cost, the relevant component should be purchased as AOG. This situation creates a great burden on the organization. Purchasing the component on time in accordance with aircraft maintenance plans and storing the essential components in the company's warehouses within a range of risks and opportunities will result in reduced purchasing and inventory costs. The objective of the study is to minimize inventory costs for components to be ordered in accordance with aircraft plans. At 3 distinct MRO Organization locations, the start and end dates of the aircraft's periodic maintenance have been identified. In these locations, which airplane components have been ordered in accordance with their 12-month plans are known. As a consequence of this data, a model has been developed to reduce the holding cost, transfer cost and ordering cost that comprise the inventory cost and the MIP server of GAMS software is used to determine the optimal solution. As a result of this model, component order information was examined for the 3 locations. According to the aircraft maintenance planning, instead of ordering separately for the component to be used when the aircraft maintenance interval comes, the conclusion is that an order was created together in advance. In this way, it will be possible to avoid high ordering costs.
