Abstract (EN)

This thesis examines the reciprocal relaionship between the nation-state as a form of political organization within the framerwork of nationalism theories and security. The discourse of the state, and specifically the nation-state, providing security and social stability categorically establishes the trust and peace of mind that the governed need, while also serving as a means of legitimizing the state's own authority. In this context, the nation of security legitimizes the nation-state's authority to dominate and use force within the framework of 'national interests and national stability' Whic firs emerged in Western Europe in the 16th century and became institutionalized in the 19th century. The aim of this study is to examine how the nation-state form has been shaped within the framework of the concept of security throughout history, and how security has been functionalized both as an instrument of power and as a response to the expectations of protection and peace of mind of those being governed
