Abstract (EN)
Public institutions have entered the digitalization process by primarily using document management systems in their document management processes. In this context, the University Information Management System (ÜBYS) developed combines the academic and administrative processes of higher education institutions under a single platform and offers significant contributions in areas such as access to information, automation of business processes and data security. In this thesis, the usability of ÜBYS, which is widely used in higher education institutions, was analyzed. The research was carried out with a user-centered approach and the experience offered by the system to different user groups (students, academic and administrative staff) at Kastamonu University was evaluated multidimensionally. Heuristic evaluation, user testing and System Usability Scale survey were used as methods in the study. Participants were examined in terms of variables such as age, gender, education status, employment status and system usage frequency, and descriptive and comparative statistical analyzes were performed. The findings revealed that ÜBYS has a generally functional and accessible structure, but there are usability problems in some modules that negatively affect the user experience. As a result, although ÜBYS has a user-friendly structure; It was determined that some interface components, help documentation and error management systems needed improvements. The findings provide guiding suggestions for restructuring the system in a way that is more effective, intuitive and increases user satisfaction.
