Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between nutritional literacy and body perceptions of university students. In this context, data were collected from 472 university students using the questionnaire technique. The SPSS v23 statistical program was used for the analysis of the research. Frequency analysis was applied to the questions regarding the demographic data of the participants, and the distribution of the data was presented in the tables as "n" and "%". Whether the satisfaction scales differ according to demographic data nutritional literacy and body was analyzed with significance tests. Before deciding which analysis to use, whether the data fit the normal distribution was evaluated by Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk tests. For data that do not conform to the normal distribution, the Mann Whitney U test was used in pairwise comparisons for analysis, and in comparisons of more than two variables; Kruskal-Wallis H test was used. Pairwise comparisons were made with the Mann Whitney U test to determine which groups were different in the analyses that were significant. The relationship between the scales was evaluated using Spearman correlation analysis. According to the findings obtained after the analysis; a positive, low-level, statistically significant relationship was found between participants' reading comprehension and interpretation, nutritional literacy, and body satisfaction overall score. According to these results; it is considered that when general nutritional knowledge, reading comprehension and interpretation, and nutritional literacy increase, body satisfaction will also partially increase.
