Abstract (EN)

In our time, learning a foreign language has become become an 'indispensable necessity' in order to follow scientific developments and to get international business opportunities. In terms of university students, it is much more privileged to know English. The purpose of the study is to investigate the anxiety, attitudes, self-efficacy beliefs towards English course and language learning strategy of university students. The study is a correlational study and the universe of the study consisted of the university students of a state university. And the sample consisted of the students who are determined according to the stratified sampling method. 'English Attitude Scale'', "English Language Anxiety Scale", "English Self-efficacy Scale" and "Language Learning Strategy Inventory" were used as data collection tools in the study. In order to decide which tests should be used in the analysis of the data, it was first examined whether the scores obtained from data collection tools met the basic assumptions of parametric tests or not and that the data showed a normal distribution. The t-test of independent samples in comparison of two groups, the one-way analysis of variance in the comparison of more than two groups and Pearson Moments Multiplication Correlation coefficient is calculated for determining the relationship between variables. As a result of the study, it was determined that the university students' anxiety about English lessons did not differ according to gender and school type, it is determined that there is a difference in favor of pre-university preparatory education fields according to the pre-university preparation education variable. According to the gender variable in the attitudes of university students towards English, there is a difference in favour of girls and according to the class variable there is a difference in favour of 1st. class students and there is no difference according to the school type variable. It is determined that the students' English self-efficacy were significantly different in favor of female students according to gender variable.
