Abstract (EN)

In the present study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between emotion regulation, parental attitude and exam anxiety among students preparing for university exam. The sample of the study consists of 397 high school senior students, 209 of whom are girls and 188 of them are boys. In the study, demographic information form, Westside Exam Anxiety Scale, Emotional Regulation Scale for Adolescents and Parenting Attitude Scale were used. Independent groups t-test on the data obtained in the study to see whether test anxiety, emotion regulation and parental attitudes differ according to gender; One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to see if it differentiates according to the education level of the mother and father. Complementary post-hoc analysis techniques were used to determine from which groups the significant difference determined after ANOVA originated. Scheffe multiple comparison technique used in cases where variances are homogeneous. Pearson Product Moment Correlation Analysis was conducted to determine the relationship between exam anxiety, emotion regulation and parental attitude. Finally, Progressive Regression Analysis was carried out to determine the scores of the test anxiety predictive level of parental attitude and emotion regulation scale scores. Findings obtained as a result of the research are discussed in the light of the literature. Key words: Parental attitude, emotion regulation, exam anxiety, senior high school students
