Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was 'Evaluation of Some Physical Fitness Parameters in Volleyball Basic Training with Eurofit Test Battery'. Institutional, parent, student permission documents and ethics committee permissions were obtained before the research. The study included 50 healthy male participants with an average age of 11.52±0.76 years in the control group (CG) and 10.96±0.34 years in the treatment group (UG), with an average height of 146.62±7.57 cm in the CG and 142.02±6.012 cm in the UG. The study consisted of 2 groups: UG 25 participants and CG 25 participants. While UG received basic volleyball training, CG continued their daily lives. Basic volleyball training was applied as 10 minutes warm-up and 40 minutes training 3 days a week for 8 weeks. In the study, pre-test - post-test model, one of the experimental research types, was applied. The eurofit test battery, which measures some physical fitness levels before and after the study, was applied to both groups. Measurements included height, weight, skinfold thickness, balance test, touching discs, flexibility, grip strength (bilateral), sit-ups, pull-ups, 10x5 sit-ups and 20-meter sit-ups. Two-way ANOVA was used to evaluate the differences between UG and CG, pre-post test time differences and group-time interactions, and group and time comparisons of the data were evaluated with Bofferoni, one of the post-hoc tests. In the study, significant differences were observed between UG and CG in body weight, skinfold thickness, balance test, touching the discs test, 30 s shuttle test, pull-up test, 10 x 5 meter shuttle run test, 20 meter shuttle run test in favor of UG (p<0.05), while no significant differences were observed in flexibility and grip strength (p>0.05). In UG, there were significant differences between the pre-test and post-test in the values of touching the discs and pull-ups, and in terms of group*time in the pull-ups, 10x5 shuttle run and 20 meter shuttle run test (p<0.01). It is thought that the basic volleyball training applied in our study was effective on some physical fitness elements such as speed, agility, strength and balance. As a result, it can be said that volleyball training is effective in the development of some physical fitness elements.
