Human beings in the pendelum of loneliness:Dasein and durèe in Şükrü Erbaş's poetry

Şükrü Erbaş (1953) is among the prominent poets of Turkish literature. The poet, whose first poem was published in Varlık journal in 1978, advanced in a consistent and successful line. It can be seen that an open or masked feeling of loneliness dominated a great majority of the poems written by Erbaş who attached importance to theme variety. In this study, which will trace time in Erbaş's poems; loneliness, which is important since it can be considered as equivalent to life and time, has been associated with the concepts of "dasein" and "durée". This thesis was prepared to analyze the perceptions of time and in parallel with time perceptions of estrangement, loneliness and life in Şükrü Erbaş poetry, to show what a deep philosophical insight the poet wrote his poems with and to make sure that his poems are approached with a more meaningful reading. The conceptual background of the study consists of the concept of "dasein" in Heidegger's philosophy and the concept of "durée" in Bergson's philosophy. In the first section of this study which includes three sections, the changes in the concept of time from ages to ages and from civilizations to civilizations were addressed in general. In the second section, Heidegger's philosophy and Bergson's philosophy were summarized and the reflections of the concepts of "dasein" and "durée" in Erbaş's poetry were explained, while in the last section the feelings of estrangement and loneliness in Erbaş's poetry were analyzed with the concept of "dasein". In addition, the mental process that the subjects in the poet's works sank into with the feelings of estrangement and loneliness and consequently the borderless perception of time they experienced were tried to make understandable with the concept of "durée".
