Abstract (EN)
Discovering new energy sources is as important as utilizing existing sources more effectively and efficiently. The effectiveness of electricity usage also holds significance in the field of energy. The rapid advancement of technology has led to increased utilization of power electronic circuit components in electrical devices. However, this increased usage of power electronic circuit elements gives rise to certain power quality issues. Among these issues are harmonic distortions, fluctuations, power factor problems, and current-voltage imbalances. To determine the quality of electric energy, it is essential to prioritize accurate and continuous power quality measurements using energy analyzer devices in order to identify disruptive effects and sources. With this aim in mind, the electrical energy quality of administrative and educational buildings affiliated with Yalova University was examined using the Fluke 435-II energy analyzer device for a duration of one week. The main energy quality parameters evaluated in the energy quality analysis included current, voltage, current-voltage harmonics, active-reactive powers, power factor, energy consumption and losses, and vibration (flicker) conditions. Based on the analysis results, energy quality issues and loss levels caused by the loads on the electrical grid during weekdays and weekends were identified, and solutions were proposed. Data regarding the highest, lowest, and average harmonics, power, and energy values of the buildings, compensation statuses, changes in the load profile of the buildings over time, and types of loads were provided, and measurement results were compared with measurement regulations and standards. It was observed that electricity consumption was intensive during working hours, and sudden fluctuations occurred at certain times. Findings regarding the source of these fluctuations and their impact on energy quality were determined, and corresponding recommendations were presented.
