Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, we analyze the reliability and maintenance of a mission-based systemwhere the mission process is the minimal semi-Markov process corresponding to a Markovrenewal process. The system is a complex one with multiple components that have arbitrarylifetime distributions. The mission has different stages or phases with random sequence anddurations. We assume that the failure parameters of the components and the confi…gurationof the system change according to the phases of the mission. In other words, an externalmission process modulates the deterioration or age process of the system. We analyze severalperformance measures under two repair policies: namely, maximal repair and no repair. Wealso discuss optimal maintenance policies minimizing the expected total discounted cost. Weconsider simpler models with Markovian mission and deterioration to obtain more explicitand computationally tractable results.
