Abstract (EN)
This master's thesis examines patenting on living organisms regarding biomedicine ethics and law perspectives. In this paper; essential terms such as property, intellectual property and patent are explained for developing legal ground. Also patents granted by United States of America and European Union Patent Offices are examined in detail. Almost all mentioned patents have been granted for inventions which have been obtained via gene editing on human gene. Court decisions and legal materials are discussed for revealing similarities and differences. In the last part of this thesis, biomedicine ethics and discussions on gene patent are stated.
