Abstract (EN)

Marko Paşa is a satirical journal emergent in line with socialist-realist conception. The most important personality in the journal is the founder Sabahattin Ali. Apart from Sabahattin Ali, Rıfat Ilgaz and Aziz Nesin are also amongst the other indispensables of the journal. Marko Paşa gained the title "the most published and sold journal" thanks to its narrative and style used when recounting the events occurred in Turkey. The journal accomplished this success despite the attitude of the high state officials against itself and handled the political atmosphere formed between 1946-1950 in its own perspective, hence constituted its rightful place in the history of Turkish Press.
