Abstract (EN)

In this study, one new sulfonyl hydrazone ligand (LH ) was synthesized by the reactions of p-toluene sulfonyl hydrazide with 2-benzoyl pyridine and three metal complexes of this ligand have been prepared. Chemical structure of the ligand was characterized by elementel analysis, IR and UV-Vis. spectral data. Metal complexes were clarified by means of elemental analysis, IR, UV-Vis. spectral data and magnetic susceptibility studies. Crystal structures of LH ligand and [Ni(L)2] complex were investigated by X-ray single crystal method. Antimicrobial activities of ligand (LH) and its complexes were also investigated against 10 different bacteria. The interactions of all synthesized compounds with plasmid DNA were charecterized using agarose gel electrophoresis.
