Abstract (EN)

Today, cancer comes to mind in the first place among fatal diseases. Cancer patients who experienced great difficulties in the treatment process and treatment of a disease which is very expensive. Lung cancer is one of the type common cases in the world, and the world is accepted as forms of cancer which causes the most deaths worldwide. This is the most important cause of the condition, the doctor delayed diagnosis in patients with advanced stage and is shown. In Turkey, the incidence of lung cancer in mans is abot %62 and %5 in womans. There is a fact that resistance to widely used chemotherapeutics occurs frequently. Thus novel agents for cancer treatment are required. Antineoplastic drugs; selectivity are limited, narrow therapeutic index, toxicity more are effective immunosuppressive agents aimed at the anti-proliferative effect. Carmofur or HCF of (1-hexilcarbamoyl-5-fluorouracil), for the treatment of types of breast cancer and colorectal cancer used used as antineoplastic agent is a pyrimidine analog. Carmofur is known to induce leukoencephalopathy. However, carmofur is a very potent inhibitor of acid ceramidase (AC). Ceramidase, survival of cancer cells, affects the growth and death. Prevention of acid ceramidase activity, making antineoplastic agents and sensitive tumor cells against radiation exposure. Several side effects are known in some of chemotherapeutics used to treat cancer. Therefore, no side effects and low doses indicates that the cytotoxicity is need for the development of new drugs. New approaches in cancer therapy, the introduction of new therapeutic agents to cancer cells, which aims at developing selected agents with minimal side effects. In this study, the carmofur for the treatment of lung cancer and a newly developed carmofur loaded solid lipid nano-formulation, potentially cytotoxic, proapoptotic, antiproliferative effects, it may cause morphological and subtle structural changes in non-small cell human lung cancer will be studied on adenocarcinoma cell line.
