Abstract (EN)
In this thesis study, the behavior of reinforced concrete frames exposed to high-temperature conditions and subsequently subjected to cyclic loading, such as earthquakes, was investigated, along with the changes in parameters affecting this behavior. To achieve this goal, variables such as the degree and duration of high temperature were considered. Experimental and numerical analyses were conducted on reinforced concrete frame test specimens exposed to temperature effects of 200, 400, 600, and 800°C for 60, 120, and 180 minutes, followed by cyclic loading. The thesis study was conducted in five stages. In the first stage, suitable dimensions and material properties of the reinforced concrete frames were determined, and the specimens were produced. In the second stage, the reinforced concrete frames were exposed to high-temperature conditions. In the third stage, reinforced concrete frames subjected to high temperature effects were tested under cyclic load in accordance with FEMA 461 loading protocol. In the fourth stage, finite element models of the reinforced concrete frame test elements were created using the ABAQUS program, and thermal structural analyses were conducted. In the fifth stage, the experimental results obtained from cyclic loading experiments and numerical results obtained from finite element analysis were evaluated and the experimental and numerical results were analyzed comparatively. As a result of the study, it was determined that as the degree of high temperature and the exposure time increased, there was a significant decrease in the lateral load carrying capacity, stiffness and energy absorption capacity of the reinforced concrete frame.
