Abstract (EN)

This thesis study was carried out to investigate the effect of agarwood hydrosol supplemented feed on growth and oxidative stress levels in goldfish stocked at low and high densities. According to the findings, the Control H group with high stocking density lagged behind the Control L group with low stocking density in terms of growth and growth parameters. This reveals the negative effect of high stocking density on the growth and feed utilization of goldfish. The results of the research show that the addition of agarwood hydrosol to fish feeds can be a useful method for eliminating the disadvantageous situation in fish growth caused by high stocking density. Goldfish muscle MDA level was highest in Control H group and lowest in Control L group. It has been determined that high stocking density causes oxidative stress in goldfish. MDA levels in the muscles of goldfish fed with agarwood hydrosol supplemented diets were decreased compared to the Control H group. Feeding with agarwood hydrosol supplemented feed was effective in reducing the MDA level. It was determined that agarwood hydrosol supplementation increased muscle tissue CAT and SOD enzyme levels and decreased MDA levels in stressed goldfish. These results show that feeding with 0.5% and 1% agarwood hydrosol supplemented feeds plays an important role in reducing oxidative stress of goldfish stocked in high density.
