Abstract (EN)

Swelling floors do cause serious problems in buildings. For this type of floor, the most widely used solution method is stabilization with additives. Within the scope of this study, alternative materials such as eggshell (Y), lime (K) and zeolite (Z), the effect of stabilization was investigated of the high plasticity clay soil (CH) obtained from the clay quarry in Denizbuku neighbourhood of the Ünye Cement Factory. High plasticity clay floor, 3 to 20% by weight of eggshell mixed with 3 to 8% of lime and 5 to 20% of zeolite. Experimental sets were created using the Taguchi Method. The data obtained from the experiment results were analyzed again according to the Taguchi Method and a four-experiment set was prepared. The effects of the prepared mixtures on the consistency limit, compaction parameters and swelling potential of the additives were investigated. In addition, the changes in the unconfined compressive strength of the 1, 7 and 28-day curing times were investigated. As a result of the experimental studies, it has been revealed that the Y15K6Z20 mixture containing 15% eggshell, 6% lime and 20% zeolite is the most optimal solution for the swelling stabilization of the soil.
