Abstract (EN)
This study aims to identify the challenges faced by teachers working in Turkish schools abroad and develop solutions for these issues. It looks at the cultural, professional, and personal difficulties teachers face in foreign countries and seeks to help resolve them. The study also provides guidance for teachers planning to work abroad and other stakeholders. It uses a qualitative, phenomenological approach to better understand teachers' professional experiences. The study group consists of 10 teachers who have worked in Turkish schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education (MEB) in countries like Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait. Participants were chosen using snowball sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews based on literature review and expert opinions. Each interview lasted about 30 minutes and was conducted either face-to-face or online, with the participants' consent. For data analysis, content analysis was used to categorize and code the responses into themes. The findings show that teachers face various challenges in their work, including communication with students, preparing for national exams, teaching methods, classroom management, and relationships with school staff, colleagues, and parents. Additionally, teachers also struggle with personal issues such as adapting to new cultures, personal development, and adjusting to new living conditions. The study provides valuable theoretical and practical insights for teachers planning to work abroad, as well as for relevant stakeholders. It also contributes to the existing literature and can serve as a reference for future research.
