Involution generators of mapping class groups of surfaces

In this study, the generators of the mapping class groups were examined. Firstly, the historical process of producing the mapping class groups by Dehn twists was explained and by how many minimum number of Dehn twists it could be produced was shown. Then, the topic main of our thesis, the involution generators of the mapping class groups were examined. In this context, the historical process of the involution generators was explained and by how many minimum number involution of mapping class groups could be produced was emphasized. In this sense, how the mapping class groups are produced by 3 involutions is explained by following (Korkmaz 2020) article.
