Abstract (EN)
Trainers and sports scientists use foam roller application as a myofascial relaxation technique in pre-exercise warm-up activities of swimmers with intense training and competition programs. In this study, the effects of swimmers on physiological performance were investigated by applying 50 m swimming speed test and vertical jump test to determine anaerobic power. This study was carried out with a total of 30 people, including 15 control and 15 experimental groups. The control group had an average age of 18.3 ± 0.4 years, a height of 177.8 ± 5.8 cm and a weight of 74.0 ± 7.9 kg, while the experimental group had a mean of 18.7 ± 0.8 years, 180.3 ± 5.8 cm height and 71.7 ± 4.4 kg weight. Dynamic warm-up exercises were applied to all participants prior to swimming training for eight weeks. In addition, foam roller exercises were applied to the experimental group. Vertical jump and 50 m swim test measurements were made as pre-test and post-test for all participants. The data obtained as a result of the study were analyzed using IBM SPSS statistics 25.0 program. The degree of significance was considered to be at least p <0.05. 55 As a result of the study, it was observed that there was a positive increase in vertical jump height and swimming performance in the control and experimental groups. Foam roller exercises have been shown to play an important role in maximizing performance during exercise and competition.
