Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, investigation of compressive strenght of weak limestones obtained from The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus under different temperatures by needle penetration test was aimed. In this context, compressive strenght of the weak limestones was determined by laboratory tests conducted at different laboratory facilities. The natural density values of the studied rocks are between 1,31 and 1,47 g/cm3, and unit weights are between 12,85 and 14,42 kN/m3. Additionally, average of the values obtained by block punch index test carried out under natural conditions was determined to be 3.349 MPa. The Vp-dried and Vp-saturated values determined by ultrasonic wave test are between 1174,11 m/s and 1512,82 m/s, respectively. The values obtained by needle penetration test are between 1.85 MPa and 3.03 MPa. The ultrasonic wave test results carried out on the gradually heated specimens (105-700 C0 ) were determined to be between 173.50 m/s and 1508.36 m /s, and the needle penetration test values were also determined to be between 1.30 and 3.51 MPa.
