Kastamonu waqfs according to the Evkâf Register numbered 11244

Waqfs institutions have contributed to the realization of social, economic, health, religious, educational, urban and cultural activities under the charity. In this way, the culture of social solidarity has increased In this study, Kastamonu waqfs, whose accounts are kept in the Evkâf Register numbered 11244, dated 1840-44, were examined. As a result, 80 waqfs were identified in Central Kastamonu, villages and districts. Kastamonu was located in the province of Bolu between 1841 and 1846. These waqfs are classified as charity, money, avarız and family waqfs. For the continuity of these waqfs, grains, shops, farms, and cash money were donated as income. Thanks to the accounts of the waqfs in the Evkâf Register, the income and expense items of the waqfs were revealed. Thus, in terms of contributing to the holistic history of Kastamonu waqfs, the determination of the properties and officials of the foundations identified in this book can be a reference.
