Abstract (EN)

The value of nations having a deep-rooted history can only be understood by understanding and evaluating that history. Understanding and evaluating history are the duties and responsibilities of historians. One of the greatest helpers of historians in this regard is primary sources. Undoubtedly, one of the most important first-hand sources that can be used in Ottoman history studies is the shari'iyye registers. The court records, which emerged with the recording of the cases heard by the kadi or his regent, contain valuable information about the Ottoman social life. With the evaluation of the shari'iyye registers, important information can be obtained about the Ottoman family structure, social life and the administrative and economic structure of the relevant city. In this study, the transcription of Adana shari'iyye register numbered 146 was made and the information obtained was evaluated. As a result of this evaluation, information was obtained about the administrative, social, cultural and economic situation of Adana between the years 1895-1899, which is the date of the provisions in the book.
