Abstract (EN)
This thesis aims at researching the effect of 16-week Basic Table Tennis Trainings on the children who are in 10-12 age group in terms of height, body weight, body fat percentage, body mass index, flexibility, vertical take-off, standing long jump, 30 m sprint, anaerobic power, maxvo2, right and left hand grasp power, visual and audio reaction time, relaxing heart rate, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, volume and capacities of lungs' (vc, fvc, fev1, fev1%). 80 students who were randomly chosen in 10-12 age group participated in the research in total as 40 experimental groups (20 males, 20 females) and 40 control groups ( 20 males, 20 females). These students were firstly provided with pre-test measurement then with post-test measurement after 16-week basic table tennis trainings were applied. Statistical Data Analysis was carried out by using IBM SPSS 20.0 (Statistical Package for Social Sciences). Mann Whitney test was used in order to compare bivariate groups and the result (p<0,05) was accepted as statistically meaningful. As a result of the findings as well as the post-test measurements of experimental and control groups in males, statistical differences between the measurements of flexibility, vertical take-off, standing long jump, 30 m sprint, anaerobic power, maxvo2, right and left hand grasp power, visual and audio reaction time, relaxing heart rate, fev and fev1 were accepted as meaningful on behalf of the experimental group (p<0,05). There were no statistically meaningful differences accepted between the two groups in terms of height, body weight, body fat percentage, body mass index, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, vc and fvc values (p>0,05). As a result of the post-test measurements of experimental and control groups in females, statistical differences between the measurements of body fat percentage, flexibility, vertical take-off, standing long jump, 30 m sprint, anaerobic power, right and left hand grasp power, visual and audio reaction time, relaxing heart rate, vc, fvc, fev1 and fev1% were accepted as meaningful on behalf of the experimental group (p<0,05). There were no statistically meaningful differences accepted between the two groups in terms of height, body weight, body mass index, maxVo2, systolic and diastolic blood pressure (p>0,05). In conclusion, it has been observed that 16-week basic table tennis trainings have positive effects on the physical and physiological characteristics of the children who are in 10-12 age group and it also develops them.
