Abstract (EN)

Although reproductive health is a concept that concerns all people, it has a special place and importance in a woman's life. Because fertility is an event that occurs in the female body, and it may impair the general health level of women while performing this function. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of the education given according to the Health Belief Model on the reproductive health protective attitude of married women between the ages of 18-24. Between April 2019 and December 2019, pre-test-post-test was conducted with control group and quasi-experimental model in order to evaluate the effectiveness of health education applied to improve reproductive health with 175 married women in Hakkari No. 1 Family Health Center. The questionnaire form in the study was composed of questions about socio-demographic information. In order to determine the reproductive health protective attitudes and behaviors, Married Women's Reproductive Health Attitudes Determination Scale (RHADS) and FP Attitude Scale were used to measure FP attitude. As a result of the study, the mean pretest-USDS total score was 112.57 ± 24.58 in the education group, 119.07 ± 25.93 in the control-1 group and 120.15 ± 18.63 in the control-2 group. The AP total score average was 102.00 ± 22.47 in the education group, 101.75 ± 23.44 in the control-1 group, and 106.5 ± 24.80 in the control-2 group. After the pre-test data has been collected, a three-month training program has been applied to the people in the experimental group. Following the completion of the training, three months of follow-up has been carried out, a total of six months later, post-test data have been collected by applying RHADS and APDS. In the education group, a significant increase was found in the total and sub-dimension mean scores of the RHADS and AP attitude scales (p <0.05). It is extremely important to determine the reproductive health problems of women and to plan and implement health education in this regard. It has been determined that the education given according to the Health Belief Model has a positive effect on the protective attitude of reproductive health.
