A translation of prose Şehnâme duplicated in 18 century volume II, pages 145a-284b (Analysis - text - dictionary - index of private names - duplicated)

Şehnâme is one of the most important resources affecting Turkish Literature, especially Classical Turkish Literature. The idea of recording the history of a state has been one of the most important duty. This work written by Firdevsi in mesnevi manner tells the millennium of Persian before they coverted intı Islam. In his work, Firdevsi tells heroes who heve extraordinary powers and have affected the Persian History in a mythical manner. It is, of course, impossible fort he Turkish artists not to be affected from such a magnificent work written justby the Turkish territories. Especially, Persian Literature had great effects on Turkish Literature in XV and XVI centuries. The work has been translated into our language many times and many copies of these translation has been written. Poets and writers have embellished their works with the unique features of heroes and images in Şehnâme for centuries. Our study is based on a copy written by Derviş Mustafa in XVIII. century. Our study consisting of Introduction, Analysis, Text, Dictionary and exact copy parts, includes language features of Old Anatolian Turkish. So, this forms an opinion about the period inwhich the effects of Old Anatolian Turkish have lasted longer than ıt is known in the historican process of Turkish language. In our study, what kind of interaction and change thereis between Old Anatolian Turkish, Modern Turkey Turkish and the work in terms of features of form and language is mainly discussed.
