Transcription of Trabzon Court Record no 1861 and classification of records

In this thesis, the Trabzon Register Book No. 1861 was transcribed, and the entries were classified. The aim of the study is to contribute to academic studies on the social and cultural history of Trabzon in the 17th century. The period studied covers two years between H. 1105-1107/G. 1694-1696. The court cases between these years were classified under different headings in the study to provide information on Ottoman history in general and the history of Trabzon in particular. This study, entitled "Transcription of Trabzon Court Record No. 1861 and Classification of Records", consists of an introduction and two main chapters. In the introductory part of the thesis, the purpose and method of the study were briefly explained. A literature review of the period was made, and political developments were also briefly mentioned. In the first chapter, the main administrative units, districts, villages, and other place names mentioned in the records were presented in tables. In the second section, the thematic classification of the records, important persons, family names, architectural works and foundations presented in tables. The appendices contain the transcription part of the Trabzon Court Record No. 1861 and examples of entries in the book. Keywords: Court Records, Trabzon, Social History
