Abstract (EN)
Suspension bridges are special structures, each suspension bridge has its own structures and they display different behaviors. The foundations of the 1915 Çanakkale Suspension Bridge were laid on March 18, 2017 and it was opened for service in 2022. This monumental structure in the Dardanelles, which has left a great mark in the history of Turkey and the world, was designed to meet the highest engineering and aesthetic standards. The 1915 Çanakkale Suspension Bridge, which has the title of "the longest span suspension bridge in the world" with its main span of 2023 meters, is also the "highest suspension bridge in the world" with its towers of 334 meters. 1915 Çanakkale Suspension Bridge; it has a total length of 4.608m with 2.023m middle span, 770m side spans, 365m and 680m approach viaducts and there are 3 traffic lanes in both directions. The bridge deck is designed with a width of 45.06m and a height of 3.5m, and on both sides of the deck, there are 3m walkways for maintenance and repair – the maintenance strip. While the foundations of both towers are located at a depth of approximately 40m on the seabed, the height of the steel towers is 318m and the top of the towers is 334m. In this study, the dynamic analyses of the 1915 Çanakkale Suspension Bridge is carried out. In the study, the construction stage, wave passage effect, near and far fault, stochastic analyses of the bridge were also made. For this purpose, three dimensional finite element model of the 1915 Çanakkale Suspension Bridge was created. This model was created with the AutoCAD computer aided design program, which is widely used in civil engineering. Analyses were made using the SAP2000 finite element program. In the analyses, different earthquake records, especially earthquakes that occurred in the past in the region, were used. As a result of the analyses, the mode shapes, frequencies and periods of the bridge were determined. From the analyses, displacement of the bridge tower and deck and internal forces such as bending moment, shear force and normal force were also obtained. In addition, the displacements at the points where the maximum values occur and the variation of the internal forces in the elements over time are also presented.
