Perception of religion in Turkish theater between 1923-1950

Theater, entered the process of formation with the beginning of humanity and has become a type of art that creates its own mass bu continuing its development with humanity. Displaying it live on the stage makes the theater more realistic and impressive as a live art genre. When we look at the histroy of the theater, it is seen that it is welcomed in different ways among the nations. Looking at the history of Turkish theater, it is possible to say that the theater has gone through various phases. When we look at the Turkish Theater in the western sense, it is seen that it has pşayed an important role in the chane and transformation of the society from the beginning. Especially in the Republican period, he undertook a role in the teater, like other types of art, in order to establish the new regime and sit on a more solid foundation. In this study, the theme of religion, qich differed as a requirement of the new regime, was traced in the theater works written between 1923-1950. In the first part of our study, the concept of religion under the title of theater and religion, the relationship between theater and religion in the processes between 1923-10950 with the establishment of Central Asia, Anatolia, the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Turkey were examined. Then, as we discussed in the second part, Tanzimat and Turkish Theater during the II. Constitutional Monarchy Period was examined, and the names and works that contributed to the development of the theater in this period are included. In the third part of our study, the main subject of our thesis is explained under the title of Development of Turkish Theater in the Republican Period. In the last part of our study, the title of Religious Theme of Everyday Life in Theater Life in Theater Works has been included between the years we have discussed, since theater is a genre that feeds on daily life and people, emerged as a need of humanity and continued its existence. The works were evaluated in terms of the subject they deal with and the period they were written.
