Aksaray press between 1926-1980

This study aims to identify the first newspapers and magazines of the city by focusing on the press activities of Aksaray between the years 1926-1980. Local journalism activities, which started with Aksaray Provincial Newspaper in 1926, continued with this newspaper until 1933. Aksaray has been silent in terms of journalism for 17 years after the closure of the provincial newspaper. Newspapers and magazines, which started their broadcasting life with private initiatives since 1950, brought about the revival of the press in Aksaray. In the study, while giving information about Aksaray Provincial Newspaper, the first newspaper of the city, the leading newspapers and magazines published after the closure of the provincial newspaper were examined. While it was learned that the first press organization in Aksaray, after the provincial newspaper, started its publication life in 1950, it was determined that 10 newspapers and three magazines were published until 1980. The first issues of newspapers and magazines reached through archive scanning were included in the scope of the study and document analysis was made. As a result of the examination, the release date, imprint information, by whom it was issued, the publication period, technical structure and the news in the first issues that met the reader were conveyed. In the light of this information, the map of Aksaray press was drawn in the specified time period.
