03. Summary This study reviews the activities of community homes between 1932-1951 and contributions of Ordu Community Home to folklore, which were first established in Turkish Republic after the victory in independence War and aimed at diffusing the Kemalist ideology and principles of the party, accordingly and causing the society to internalize the reforms. The folkloric efforts of community homes are crucial to revitalization of awareness for national culture. For this reason, our traditions and customs, beliefs, folk literature studies (such as turkus (folk songs), tales, legends, anecdotes, mânis, Turkish quatrains, proverbs, etc.) tangible and intangible cultural assets in brief, which are now face to face with the intense pressure of western culture, are identified. The first section of the study provides information on establishment of community homes. This section reveals the necessity of community homes, the studies of Turkish Organizations and pioneers of community homes who spent efforts conducive to establishment of community homes and types of such efforts. Also, purposes, principles of community homes, their relation to the party, principles of establishment and works carried out by nine branches between 1932-1951 were outlined. The second section touches upon reasons for closure of community homes. The third section reviews activities of Ordu Community Home with the help of the magazines published by Ordu Community Home. The following section reviews the folkloric contribution Ordu Comminty Home between 1932-1951, which is the primary goal of the study. These studies include poems of regional folk poets, turkus, requiems, mânis, riddles, proverbs, anecdotes and legends as well as compulations related to traditions, customs and beliefs. The last section discusses the linguistic studies and other literary studies made by Ordu Community Home. xm
